Iran National Jewelry Treasury is located at the heart of Tehran within the Central Bank of Iran. The museum is open to public. Darya-i-Nur, Crown of Pahlavi, Nadir Aigrette, Kiani Crown, Globe of Jewels and Peacock Throne are just some of the great pieces of this collection. Darya-i-Nur "Darya-i-Nur" or "Sea of Light" is the world's largest pink diamond. This precious jewel with its mate, "Kooh-i-Nur" or "Mountain of Light", has always come together throughout the history. They were both in possession of Nadir Shah. After his death, "Kooh-i-Nur" was taken to Afghanistan and then to India. Then it was gifted to Queen Victoria. Today, the diamond is part of the Crown Jewels. "Darya-i-Nur" was inherited by grandson of Nadir Shah, Shahrokh Mirza. It then came to the possession of three different kings until it came into the treasury of the Qajar kings. Later, it became part of Treasury of National Jewels of Iran. This diamond about 182 carats and has a pale pink color. It surrounded with 457 diamonds and 4 rubies set in white gold. A very famous French jeweler, Tavernier, was written in his book that he saw a 242 carats, pink diamond in the East in 1642. He called it "Great table diamond". It is believed that this diamond have been cut in two, which one section becoming "Nur-ol-Ain" and the other "Darya-i-Nur". "Nur-ol-Ain" is part of the Iranian crown jewels.
